Community Beer Works began as an idea: that beer could do more than just fill a glass—it could bring people together. In 2012, that idea took shape in a small garage brewery on Buffalo's West Side, where brewing fresh, high-quality beer for the local community became the mission.

From the start, CBW was about more than beer. It was about Buffalo—its neighborhoods, its people, and the sense of camaraderie that defines the city. The brewery quickly grew, expanding its lineup of innovative, locally crafted beers and earning a reputation for both quality and creativity.

By 2018, CBW had outgrown its original space and moved into a larger facility on 7th Street, complete with a state-of-the-art brewhouse, a welcoming taproom, and a canning line that brought its beer to even more hands across New York State. With every step forward, CBW stayed true to its roots, embracing collaboration, giving back to the community, and creating a space where everyone felt welcome.

Today, CBW continues to evolve while holding onto the values that started it all. Whether through award-winning beer, partnerships that support local causes, or the shared experience of a great pint, CBW remains committed to fostering connection—because great beer is best enjoyed together.
